Gilpine is a medium sized scout hall in the heart of Pinelands. It was built by scouts in the 1950's on land leased from the City of Cape Town.
There is ample parking outside the front of the hall. A floodlight is always on in the front at night. Both front and back doors o the hall have security gates. All windows to the hall have burglar bars. At the back of the hall there is a garden with a 2 lovely trees to sit under. The back garden is surrounded by walls with security. There is a floodlight at the back which can be turned on manually.
Inside, the floor of the hall is a parquet wooden floor in reasonable condition. There is a small partially equipped kitchen (urn, kettle, microwave, mugs, etc but no stove or fridge). There is a pull down screen for a projector but we do not provide a projector or extension cords. The hall is approximately 15m long and 7m wide.
For users of the hall there are two small rooms that can be used for storage of a small amount of equipment for an additional monthly fee. We cannot allow equipment to be left in the hall. Gilpine is a scout hall and as such it is decorated as a scout hall. We thus do not allow users to install permanent features and additions in the hall. We can make a notice board available for your use inside if you wish. We do not allow external signage of any type.
There are about 40 plastic chairs for use. At this stage we do not have tables available for users.
